Ask for a game location to be removed
Baseline is a location-based game on Google Play, published by BaselineGame. Players visit real places, called nodes in the game, to play. Most nodes come from public map data (OpenStreetMap) or are suggested by players, so now and then one ends up somewhere it should not be.
This page is for anyone, including people who do not play: property owners, residents, managers of a site, or anyone who has found something illegal in the game. You do not need an account.
If you play Baseline, the quickest way is in the game: hold a node's name to open its details, then tap Report.
What we remove
We remove a node when it is:
- on private property, such as a home, a yard or a private building;
- in an unsafe place, such as a railway, a motorway, a construction site, or anywhere people should not walk or stop;
- at a sensitive place, such as a school, a hospital, a place of worship, a cemetery or a memorial, where the people responsible for it do not want players;
- somewhere that does not exist, or that is in the wrong location.
We reply by email, usually within 7 days.
What to include
- Where it is. The node's name as it appears in the game, if you know it, and an address or a description of the place. If you are there now, Use my location fills in the coordinates.
- Why it should be removed. A sentence or two is enough.
- Your name and email, so we can reply, and how you are connected to the place.
Reporting illegal content
To report something illegal in the game, such as a player name (a callsign) or a chat message, choose Report illegal content below and tell us:
- exactly where it is: the callsign, or the text of the message and roughly when and where it was sent;
- why you believe it is illegal, as clearly as you can, including the law concerned if you know it.
We look at every notice and tell you by email what we decided.
Your information
We use your name and email only to handle your request and to reply to you. Only the people who moderate Baseline see them. We keep them for up to 12 months after the request is closed, then delete them; the request itself stays in our moderation records without them. If you used Use my location, the coordinates are stored with the request as the place it is about. For everything else, see the privacy policy.
